# Hammer & Nails vs Vault

The clearest difference is rating: Vault at 5.0 against Hammer & Nails's 3.6. Vault also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 6 weeks). Hammer & Nails's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Vault holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hammer & Nails has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hammer & Nails ships an update every 6 weeks, Vault daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
