# A1 vs BSBI

The clearest difference is rating: A1 at 4.3 against BSBI's 3.3. A1 also leads on ratings volume (24 vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 14.0). BSBI's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 24 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

A1 holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: A1 has 24 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

A1 ships an update every 24 months, BSBI monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
