# danceConvention vs Ikon Pass

The clearest difference is rating: Ikon Pass at 4.7 against danceConvention's 3.5. Ikon Pass also leads on ratings volume (28K vs 2) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). danceConvention's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ikon Pass holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ikon Pass has 28K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

danceConvention ships an update monthly, Ikon Pass every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
