# FadeInAlarm vs Chime Machine

The clearest difference is update cadence: Chime Machine at every 10 days against FadeInAlarm's every 7 months. FadeInAlarm's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FadeInAlarm sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Chime Machine sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FadeInAlarm ships an update every 7 months, Chime Machine every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
