# Speedometer vs Next Companion

The clearest difference is rating: Next Companion at 5.0 against Speedometer's 4.6. Next Companion also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Next Companion holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 1.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
