# Speedometer vs Pacer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Speedometer at none against Pacer's 4. Speedometer also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 4) and device support (4 vs 2). Pacer's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pacer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Speedometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pacer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 1.8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speedometer ships an update every 2 months, Pacer every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
