# Giant Eagle vs My Local Scene

The clearest difference is monetization model: My Local Scene at free against Giant Eagle's free with in-app purchases. My Local Scene also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18). Giant Eagle's advantage is ratings volume (84K vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Local Scene holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Giant Eagle has 84K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Giant Eagle ships an update fortnightly, My Local Scene every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
