# Collections Application vs Grit

The clearest difference is rating: Grit at 4.8 against Collections Application's 4.0. Grit also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (16K vs 1). Collections Application's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 72%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Collections Application sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year and Grit sells 27 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grit holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grit has 16K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Collections Application's written reviews are positive against 72% of Grit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Collections Application ships an update every 3 weeks, Grit fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
