# Standby Clock vs Top Four

The clearest difference is ads: Top Four at none against Standby Clock's shown. Top Four also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Standby Clock's advantage is ratings volume (715 vs 35) and review sentiment (61% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Standby Clock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Top Four sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Top Four holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Standby Clock has 715 ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Standby Clock's written reviews are positive against 50% of Top Four's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Standby Clock ships an update every 6 weeks, Top Four every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
