# Spelling Bee vs Surgiverse

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Surgiverse at none against Spelling Bee's 14. Surgiverse also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). Spelling Bee's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 38 months) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spelling Bee sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Surgiverse asks for nothing beyond the download.

Surgiverse holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spelling Bee has 1.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spelling Bee ships an update every 4 weeks, Surgiverse every 38 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
