# Maple Calculator vs Automath

Maple Calculator and Automath both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 62% of Maple Calculator's written reviews are positive against 29% of Automath's. Maple Calculator also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 273). Automath's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Maple Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Automath sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Maple Calculator against 4.7 for Automath. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maple Calculator has 1.5K ratings behind it against 273, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of Maple Calculator's written reviews are positive against 29% of Automath's.

Maple Calculator ships an update every 2 months, Automath every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
