# Maple Calculator vs iCalc

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Maple Calculator at 1.5K against iCalc's 4. iCalc's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Maple Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and iCalc sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iCalc holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maple Calculator has 1.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Maple Calculator ships an update every 2 months, iCalc fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
