# Knitpop vs Hobbii

The clearest difference is monetization model: Knitpop at free against Hobbii's free with in-app purchases. Knitpop also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 66%) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 17.0). Hobbii's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3.6K vs 181). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Knitpop against 4.9 for Hobbii. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hobbii has 3.6K ratings behind it against 181, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Knitpop's written reviews are positive against 66% of Hobbii's.

Knitpop ships an update every 2 months, Hobbii every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
