# Microballistics vs VOG

The clearest difference is rating: VOG at 4.2 against Microballistics's 2.3. VOG also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 24 months). Microballistics's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 33%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VOG holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Microballistics's written reviews are positive against 33% of VOG's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Microballistics ships an update every 24 months, VOG weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
