# Ares Alpha vs Par Timer Pro

The clearest difference is rating: Par Timer Pro at 4.5 against Ares Alpha's 4.0. Par Timer Pro also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (374 vs 30). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ares Alpha sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Par Timer Pro sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Par Timer Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Par Timer Pro has 374 ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Ares Alpha's written reviews are positive against 59% of Par Timer Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ares Alpha ships an update every 4 days, Par Timer Pro weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
