# Nerva vs EarPlanes+

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EarPlanes+ at none against Nerva's 4. Nerva's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nerva sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $43.99 per month. EarPlanes+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nerva holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nerva has 15K ratings behind it against 107, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Nerva's written reviews are positive against 75% of EarPlanes+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nerva ships an update weekly, EarPlanes+ every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
