# FontInstall.app vs Fonts

The clearest difference is rating: Fonts at 4.3 against FontInstall.app's 3.7. Fonts also leads on ratings volume (388 vs 3). FontInstall.app's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fonts holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fonts has 388 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of FontInstall.app's written reviews are positive against 49% of Fonts's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FontInstall.app ships an update every 4 weeks, Fonts every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
