# Vivid vs LibreCam

Vivid and LibreCam both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of LibreCam's written reviews are positive against 57% of Vivid's. LibreCam also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 days). Vivid's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 5) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vivid sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and LibreCam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Vivid against 5.0 for LibreCam. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vivid has 27 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of Vivid's written reviews are positive against 100% of LibreCam's.

Vivid ships an update every 3 days, LibreCam daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
