# EVA vs Calc

The clearest difference is ads: Calc at none against EVA's shown. Calc also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). EVA's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EVA sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.49 per month and Calc sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EVA holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 25 and 42 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 79% and 78% positive.

EVA ships an update every 3 months, Calc weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
