# Solunar Calculator vs moontake

The clearest difference is ads: moontake at none against Solunar Calculator's shown. moontake also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 63%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Solunar Calculator's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solunar Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and moontake sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solunar Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 67 and 42 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Solunar Calculator's written reviews are positive against 89% of moontake's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solunar Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, moontake every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
