# PQ vs IoT Maintenance

The clearest difference is update cadence: IoT Maintenance at every 5 months against PQ's every 16 months. IoT Maintenance also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PQ ships an update every 16 months, IoT Maintenance every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
