# Pineapple vs Podnotes

The clearest difference is rating: Podnotes at 4.1 against Pineapple's 1.0. Podnotes also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (37 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pineapple sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Podnotes sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Podnotes holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Podnotes has 37 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.

Pineapple ships an update weekly, Podnotes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 16, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
