# Hi Translate vs iTranscreen

Hi Translate and iTranscreen both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of iTranscreen's written reviews are positive against 10% of Hi Translate's. iTranscreen also leads on ads (none vs shown). Hi Translate's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 252) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hi Translate sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and iTranscreen sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Hi Translate against 4.4 for iTranscreen. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hi Translate has 2.7K ratings behind it against 252, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 10% of Hi Translate's written reviews are positive against 75% of iTranscreen's.

Hi Translate ships an update weekly, iTranscreen fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
