# CodaMusic vs RITMO

The clearest difference is monetization model: RITMO at free with in-app purchases against CodaMusic's subscription. RITMO also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 66%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). CodaMusic's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CodaMusic sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and RITMO sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RITMO holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CodaMusic has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 66% of CodaMusic's written reviews are positive against 100% of RITMO's.

CodaMusic ships an update every 3 weeks, RITMO weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
