# UrzaGatherer vs FaB Scanner

UrzaGatherer and FaB Scanner both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of UrzaGatherer's written reviews are positive against 40% of FaB Scanner's. UrzaGatherer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). FaB Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (110 vs 28). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FaB Scanner sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. UrzaGatherer asks for nothing beyond the download.

FaB Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 28 and 110 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of UrzaGatherer's written reviews are positive against 40% of FaB Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UrzaGatherer ships an update every 2 months, FaB Scanner every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
