# Midi Libre Le Journal vs Echappement

Midi Libre Le Journal and Echappement are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. Midi Libre Le Journal sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per 7 days and Echappement sells 30 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Midi Libre Le Journal ships an update every 5 months, Echappement every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
