# Random Notification vs Fortelling

The clearest difference is update cadence: Fortelling at every 8 days against Random Notification's every 2 months. Fortelling also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 76). Random Notification's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Random Notification sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Fortelling sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.39 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Random Notification holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fortelling has 1K ratings behind it against 76, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Random Notification's written reviews are positive against 73% of Fortelling's.

Random Notification ships an update every 2 months, Fortelling every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
