# Shift Calendar vs Shift Calendar Planner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shift Calendar Planner at 81% against Shift Calendar's 65%. Shift Calendar's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (321 vs 27). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift Calendar sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year and Shift Calendar Planner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shift Calendar has 321 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Shift Calendar's written reviews are positive against 81% of Shift Calendar Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shift Calendar ships an update every 2 weeks, Shift Calendar Planner every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
