# BarBQ vs Defapp

The clearest difference is update cadence: Defapp at fortnightly against BarBQ's every 2 months. Defapp also leads on device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BarBQ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Defapp sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BarBQ ships an update every 2 months, Defapp fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
