# Resize Image vs Reduce Photo Size

The clearest difference is rating: Resize Image at 4.6 against Reduce Photo Size's 3.7. Resize Image also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 33). Reduce Photo Size's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (36% vs 19%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Resize Image sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Reduce Photo Size sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Resize Image holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Resize Image has 1K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of Resize Image's written reviews are positive against 36% of Reduce Photo Size's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Resize Image ships an update monthly, Reduce Photo Size fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
