# Resize Image vs Reduce Photo Size

The clearest difference is ads: Reduce Photo Size at none against Resize Image's shown. Resize Image's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (1K vs 8). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Resize Image sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Reduce Photo Size sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Resize Image holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Resize Image has 1K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Resize Image ships an update monthly, Reduce Photo Size every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
