# Trace ~ vs Colorpanda

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Trace ~ at 100% against Colorpanda's 25%. Trace ~ also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Colorpanda's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Colorpanda holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trace ~ has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Trace ~'s written reviews are positive against 25% of Colorpanda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trace ~ ships an update every 2 weeks, Colorpanda every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
