# My Helena vs Pyrocast

The clearest difference is review sentiment: My Helena at 100% against Pyrocast's 50%. Pyrocast's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 18 months) and rating (4.0 vs 3.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Pyrocast holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of My Helena's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pyrocast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Helena ships an update every 18 months, Pyrocast every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
