# Lim English vs Engo

The clearest difference is rating: Engo at 4.8 against Lim English's 3.7. Engo also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (118 vs 3). Lim English's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lim English sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Engo sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Engo holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Engo has 118 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lim English ships an update every 5 weeks, Engo every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
