# Helitrends vs Hangar

Helitrends and Hangar both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Helitrends's written reviews are positive against 64% of Hangar's. Helitrends also leads on ads (none vs shown). Hangar's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 21) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Helitrends sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Hangar sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Helitrends against 4.9 for Hangar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Helitrends's written reviews are positive against 64% of Hangar's.

Helitrends ships an update every 3 weeks, Hangar every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
