# Pause vs helloHOPE

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Pause at 5.9K against helloHOPE's 14. Pause also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). helloHOPE's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pause against 5.0 for helloHOPE. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pause has 5.9K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 98% of Pause's written reviews are positive against 100% of helloHOPE's.

Pause ships an update every 2 months, helloHOPE every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
