# Pause vs Skrambled

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pause at none against Skrambled's 2. Pause also leads on ratings volume (5.9K vs 1). Skrambled's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). On price, rating, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skrambled sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Pause asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pause against 5.0 for Skrambled. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pause has 5.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pause ships an update every 2 months, Skrambled every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
