# Kacam vs KAWA DVR

The clearest difference is rating: KAWA DVR at 3.6 against Kacam's 2.1. KAWA DVR also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). Kacam's advantage is ratings volume (176 vs 7). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KAWA DVR holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kacam has 176 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Kacam's written reviews are positive against 8% of KAWA DVR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kacam ships an update every 2 months, KAWA DVR every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
