# FlightConnections vs BoardingArea

FlightConnections and BoardingArea both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 50% of BoardingArea's written reviews are positive against 13% of FlightConnections's. BoardingArea also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 28 months). FlightConnections's advantage is ratings volume (377 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FlightConnections holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightConnections has 377 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of FlightConnections's written reviews are positive against 50% of BoardingArea's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlightConnections ships an update every 28 months, BoardingArea monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
