# Chemguy vs Studdy

The clearest difference is update cadence: Studdy at every 10 days against Chemguy's every 41 months. Studdy also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 4). Chemguy's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chemguy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Studdy sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chemguy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Studdy has 13K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Chemguy's written reviews are positive against 89% of Studdy's.

Chemguy ships an update every 41 months, Studdy every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
