# ChatDip Messenger vs Freedom Chat

The clearest difference is rating: Freedom Chat at 4.8 against ChatDip Messenger's 4.1. Freedom Chat also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (117 vs 14). ChatDip Messenger's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freedom Chat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. ChatDip Messenger asks for nothing beyond the download.

Freedom Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freedom Chat has 117 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ChatDip Messenger's written reviews are positive against 88% of Freedom Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChatDip Messenger ships an update fortnightly, Freedom Chat weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
