# FLOOX reader vs Chessable

FLOOX reader and Chessable both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of FLOOX reader's written reviews are positive against 50% of Chessable's. FLOOX reader also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Chessable's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (5.9K vs 5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FLOOX reader sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year and Chessable sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for FLOOX reader against 4.8 for Chessable. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chessable has 5.9K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
