# FLOOX reader vs Speed reading

FLOOX reader and Speed reading both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of FLOOX reader's written reviews are positive against 25% of Speed reading's. Speed reading's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (143 vs 5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FLOOX reader sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year and Speed reading sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for FLOOX reader against 4.7 for Speed reading. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed reading has 143 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of FLOOX reader's written reviews are positive against 25% of Speed reading's.

FLOOX reader ships an update every 9 months, Speed reading every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
