# BEATBoXX vs Workout Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: BEATBoXX at free with in-app purchases against Workout Timer's subscription. BEATBoXX also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 88%). Workout Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BEATBoXX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Workout Timer sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BEATBoXX ships an update every 3 months, Workout Timer every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on June 25, 2026 and June 5, 2026 respectively.
