# Funexpected Math for Kids vs MintyBrain

Funexpected Math for Kids and MintyBrain both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of MintyBrain's written reviews are positive against 62% of Funexpected Math for Kids's. MintyBrain also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Funexpected Math for Kids's advantage is ratings volume (719 vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Funexpected Math for Kids sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month and MintyBrain sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Funexpected Math for Kids holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Funexpected Math for Kids has 719 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Funexpected Math for Kids's written reviews are positive against 100% of MintyBrain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Funexpected Math for Kids ships an update fortnightly, MintyBrain every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
