# Readable vs Textify

The clearest difference is rating: Textify at 4.4 against Readable's 1.0. Textify also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (46 vs 1). Readable's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readable sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and Textify sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Textify holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Textify has 46 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Readable ships an update every 2 weeks, Textify fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
