# Guide for Dauntless vs GameCat

Guide for Dauntless and GameCat both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of GameCat's written reviews are positive against 50% of Guide for Dauntless's. GameCat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Guide for Dauntless's advantage is ratings volume (423 vs 35) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guide for Dauntless sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and GameCat sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Guide for Dauntless holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guide for Dauntless has 423 ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Guide for Dauntless's written reviews are positive against 87% of GameCat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Guide for Dauntless ships an update every 3 months, GameCat weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
