# Image Ruler vs Skipper

The clearest difference is ads: Skipper at none against Image Ruler's shown. Image Ruler's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.4). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Image Ruler sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Skipper sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Image Ruler ships an update every 3 weeks, Skipper monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
