# Fotto vs Ghost Detector

The clearest difference is rating: Ghost Detector at 4.5 against Fotto's 1.0. Ghost Detector also leads on ratings volume (10 vs 1). Fotto's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (10 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fotto sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and Ghost Detector sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ghost Detector holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Detector has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Fotto's written reviews are positive against 0% of Ghost Detector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
