# MRT vs BackCam

The clearest difference is rating: BackCam at 3.5 against MRT's 1.5. BackCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). MRT's advantage is ratings volume (28 vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BackCam holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MRT has 28 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of MRT's written reviews are positive against 0% of BackCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MRT ships an update every 2 months, BackCam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
